Friends of Food A Gluten-Free Adventure At Off The Hook Nanaimo

Steve and Ruben are best buddies. They have been together from the very beginning of their lives. Their moms became friends during their visits to the same hospital for monthly checkups during their pregnancies.

Soon their friendship flourished resulting into frequent visits and inviting each other to their family events.

The kids grew up together and became best friends, so much so that they consciously took a decision to go to the same college and work at the same company.

When it came to food, Steve and Ruben were 2 peas in a pod with an insatiable appetite for delicious food. Any special occasion in their lives whether it be promotions, birthdays, milestones or even something like completing the final level of a video game, was celebrated with a hearty meal.

Everything was going perfect until Ruben started having several symptoms such as bloating and constipation after having food. The situation worsened over the course of the next week, upon consulting the doctor it was found that it was celiac disease.

This situation posed a threat to their culinary ritual. Being a good friend Steve began to research for a solution, soon he found out Gluten free food to be the perfect remedy for the problem. Even it had been just 2 weeks, Steve missed the dining experience with his buddy. Finding a great place to eat which served gluten free food became a top priority.

That's how they stumbled upon Off the Hook Grab and Go Nanaimo.

On a fine Sunday afternoon Steve and Ruben walked into the restaurant for lunch with the hopes to continue their tradition of celebrating life with delicious food. Being weekend the restaurant was quite full, however luckily, they found a vacant table which was just emptied by a family after they completed their meal.

The menu seemed interesting, Steve and Ruben started browsing for gluten free options. Soon both finalised The Caribbean Chicken Bowl. The order arrived sooner than they expected considering how busy the restaurant was. The dish was a delight. Every component was cooked to perfection, and the Flavors melded together beautifully. The Buddies were thrilled to find a place where they could enjoy a delicious, worry-free meal.

Steve was so impressed that he brought his parents along on his next visit. His dad ordered the fish and chips, and he couldn’t stop raving about it. The fish was light and fluffy, and the house-made tartar sauce was exceptional— Steve thought it was definitely a level above what they were used to.

As per steve One of the unique features of Off The Hook Nanaimo is the frozen take-home selection. It's a lifesaver for those lazy days when you want a quality meal without the hassle of cooking.
